Do you feel anxious? Depressed? Caught in a binge/restrict cycle? Do you want to create positive, sustainable change in your life? Then you have come to the right place.
Hi, I'm Rose. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mental health therapist. I specialize in treating adults with anxiety, depression, mild eating disorder concerns, and mild alcohol use disorder. I take a collaborative, trauma-informed cognitive-behavioral approach to treatment. As a feminist therapist, I view struggles not just as personal ones, but rooted in the social, cultural, and political contexts surrounding us. We'll focus on building self compassion, claiming your personal power, and challenging limiting societal expectations.
I am a former personal trainer and bodybuilder, and lean into the use of movement, nature, evidence-based information, meditation, and time management as "external" coping strategies. Problem solving, exposure (a fancy way of saying face your fears), clarifying what our values are, and emotional acceptance and tolerance are some of the cognitive-behavioral techniques I lean into. Maintaining professional boundaries is important to me in my Practice. I value a client's right to autonomy, while also maintaining the ethical standards of my profession.
My therapeutic style is collaborative yet challenging. I aim to be non-judgmental and participatory in helping you achieve the shared goals we lay out together. For example, what would be different about your life, if you were less anxious? Less depressed? Would you be less scared to seek out new connections? Would you try something new? Be better soothing yourself when you're upset?
I have 10 years of clinical experience and have worked in a variety of settings, including medical social work with liver transplant patients, employee assistance, community mental health, crisis intervention, and group practice. I support and welcome clients of all sexual orientations and gender identities. You are the expert of your story, and I am here to participate in your wellness journey.
Currently open for new clients in NC, DC, VA and CO.
Based on experience, training, and education, I treat and work with the following mental health concerns:
Alcohol use disorder (mild level)
Anxiety Disorders (Generalized Anxiety, Social anxiety, phobias, mild OCD)
Mild eating disorders/body image concerns
